6 things to expect during your 4D Pregnancy Scan

But nothing quite prepares you for the first time you see them during a 4D scan.
What to expect during your appointment
When you enter the clinic, you’ll be greeted by our Client Support Specialist or one of our Sonographers who will direct you where to go and explain what will happen during your scan appointment. Whether this is your first scan with us or you’ve visited multiple times, we’ll always put you at ease and create a calming atmosphere for you to meet your baby.
A 4D Scan uses ultrasound technology to produce images of your baby inside the womb. It’s a non-invasive procedure that is safe for you and baby. All our scans are performed by fully qualified Sonographers so you’re always in safe hands with us!
Want to involve the rest of the family? Most of our clinics allow you to bring up to five guests so partners, siblings and even grandparents can join in the experience. We’ve had scans where three generations have attended the appointment! Check your local clinic’s policy if you’re unsure.
4D technology allows us to capture your baby’s movements in real time, so you might be able to see your baby stretching, yawning, smiling or sucking their thumb. It is a truly magical bonding experience and every scan is unique.
As we know all too well, babies don’t always want to cooperate when it comes to striking a pose. Sometimes your baby may be camera shy or be in a difficult position for us to see. If this happens your Sonographer may encourage movement by asking you to change position or take a short walk.
