Having a 4D Scan in Barrow in Furness? |
The third trimester is a wonderful time of your pregnancy and our 4D Scan in Barrow in Furness was written with this time in mind. The 4D Scan is available from 24 to 34 weeks gestation and is designed to create some special memories for you and your family.
With 20 years experience, we know women want to know that the healthcare professional caring for them has been fully trained and competent to use the equipment. We therefore perform a baby wellbeing check during your 4D Scan so that you and your baby are well cared for.
Ultrasound technology has now advanced to be able to give you a 4D Scan in Barrow in Furness: a real-time 3D moving image of your baby.
Our 4D Scan in Barrow in Furness is available to women of 16 years of age and over and is our most popular scan of choice for parents to be. We have successfully performed hundreds of thousands of 4D Scans since we started our company 20 years ago.
The 4D Scan is designed to not only offer reassurance during the long wait between the 20-week scan and birth, but to allow you to see your baby in 4D.
Although the primary purpose of a 4D Scan must always be a diagnostic one, to check your baby’s health, wellbeing and growth, it’s also possible to see facial characteristics quite clearly and their expressions, including smiling and frowning. You may also see them sucking their thumb or playing with their umbilical cord – it’s an amazing sneak preview of what your baby will be like when they are finally born. This is the next best thing to meeting your baby in person.

*Sexing of your baby
Your baby’s sex organs may also be visible too, so you can if you wish, find out the sex of your baby. However, if you ask for the sex of your baby not to be revealed, the sonographer will keep quiet so your secret is kept safe.
**Our mini clips
These are short clips of your baby which we collect during your scan. We endeavour to provide you with a varied number of recordings on the day where achievable. The number and length of the clips are determined by the position your baby is in during your scan appointment.

*** Our rescan policy |
The quality of your 4D Scan in Barrow in Furness is important to us and is dependent on your baby's position. Whilst obtaining the best results on the day, we may stop scanning and ask you to take a short gentle walk in the local area.
If, in our healthcare professional’s opinion, we’re not able to complete the primary purpose of your scan because your baby's position is still not favourable, we may offer you the option of a free rescan appointment. If this is not possible due to your gestation, other options will be discussed with you.
