Important Information

All of our first-line ultrasound scan services are optional and you will be provided with either a No-Further-Action or Medical Follow-Up recommendation result on the day*. You must be at least 16 years old at the time of booking your scan and you should have no existing medical condition (other than pregnancy) or treatment pending related to the scan service you are booking. If you are in any doubt about having any type of scan, you should consult your GP or Midwife. At the time of booking, we take your GP or other healthcare professional’s contact details and, on the occasion that your scan outcome is a medical follow-up recommendation, the ultrasound practitioner carrying out your scan will act upon their “duty of care” towards you and, with your permission, provide a copy report to your GP or other healthcare professional. Note that this may take up to 48 hours with weekend appointments. The protocol used by Ultrasound-Direct for its ultrasound scans has never been shown to cause harm and we use the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle when scanning. The study of ultrasound safety continues to be reviewed by various professional bodies.

*If a blood test result is required in combination with your scan to determine an outcome, this may take up to 14 days.
