Using a secure cloud service Ultrasound Direct can send your scan images and report to any device or email address you choose. Once you receive your images you can save them forever or share them on social media at the touch of a button. Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE is offered to all clients on all scans performed in our clinics across the United Kingdom.
Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE has been created with your convenience in mind: your scan images made available online to you (and only you) within seconds of the completion of your ultrasound scan, in excellent quality, and ready to share with friends or family or on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
How does Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE work?
Once your scan has been completed, your scan images and report are uploaded securely to a cloud server using a system trusted by hospitals around the world. All images are automatically anonymised to remove any personal information before being uploaded to the Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE study exchange. They are then uploaded to a private webpage, and a link is sent to your mobile device or email address with instructions on how to view your images and download them.
All in a matter of seconds.
The Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE system will hold your images for 90 days. In that time, you can download them, share them to social media, or send the link to friends and family to view as many times as you wish. After 90 days the link will expire. What happens if you need the images again after the link expires? They are also stored on a separate secure server so they can be recovered should you need your images in the future.
Sometimes it can be difficult to see everything in an ultrasound scan image and it helps to have a second opinion from another clinician. Using Ultrasound Direct toMobile, your Ultrasound Direct sonographer can send your images securely to a colleague for their feedback; meaning you can get a second opinion in seconds.

Is it secure?
Yes, it is. Your images are encrypted from the ultrasound machine to the Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE server where any personal details are removed from the images before they are made available for you to download.
Can a link be sent to more than one device?
To protect your privacy a link to download your scan images can only be sent to your designated mobile number and email address at the time of your ultrasound scan.
How long will my images be available online for?
Your images will be available to download from the link provided for 90 days after your Ultrasound Direct appointment.
Who can see my ultrasound scan images?
You, anyone you choose to share the download link with, your Ultrasound Direct sonographer, and, should you need to access your images again after the 90 day time limit, a member of the Ultrasound Direct admin team.
I had my scan six months ago and I can’t download my ultrasound images anymore – How can I download them again?
Just contact Ultrasound Direct and we can arrange for a new download link to be sent to you. There may be a small charge for this service.
I don’t want my images sent to me – can I decline the service and have a paper copy of my ultrasound scan report?
Absolutely! The Ultrasound Direct toMOBILE feature was built for your convenience: if you would rather have a paper copy of your ultrasound scan report then we can provide one – just tell your sonographer during your scan appointment. Your ultrasound scan images will still be held on the long-term storage server in case you need them again in future.
