About Ultrasound Direct
We are a nationwide group of health care professionals and managers who started in 1998 by offering Babybond® pregnancy scans. Today, we employ more than 160 Sonographers providing access to Pregnancy, Women’s and Men’s private ultrasound in the UK.
Ultrasound Direct was conceived so your health needs can be met by our values - in other words, easier access to affordable private scans with results on the day. We have achieved this by pioneering a unique online search, choose and book facility as a part of a recognised clinical process and we were one of the first ultrasound companies to obtain Care Quality Commission registration in 2010.
We have always led in our field through award winning innovation, particularly in the areas of business and web development, many examples of which are in our

Mike Steward, co-founder of Ultrasound Direct and Babybond® has more than 30 years experience in the technical and business development of ultrasound imaging and continues to innovate in developing online solutions for ultrasound applications.
Mike Piper
A former Director of 3i plc, Mike Piper has over 25 years experience in business development. He currently helps managing a private GP health care practice in the Midlands as well as assisting high growth companies in their development.
